My style philosophy sums up in three simple words; fun, cheery and funky: Mumtaz

"My style philosophy sums up in three simple words; fun, cheery and funky."

Fahsion stylist, make-up and visual artist, Asmaa Mumtaz has a unique sense of style that sets her miles apart from her counterparts in the fashion industry. Funky, daring and cheerful, this fashionista studied contemporary make-up and styling from the prestigious London College of Fashion and her passion for creativity as a visual artist is clearly visible in her colourful style.

Growing to fame in a relatively short period of time, the superb stylist and entrepreneur has always used an artistic approach when creating an image out of her client and even herself. Her eagerness to push the boundaries of fine art are quite evident in her salon, The Dresser, that resembles a pop art collection with candy pink and neon greens spread all across the walls.

“My style philosophy sums up in three simple words; fun, cheery and funky. I am not afraid to experiment, be it with prints or colours. I feel everybody should embrace their inner personality and dress accordingly and above all, one should not be afraid to make mistakes because that is how we learn.”

The fresh and edgy stylist who always manages to look bold yet stunning on the red carpet believes that style is an evolutionary process; you grow as an individual and so does your sense of style. A fan of Kamiar Rokni’s high contrast designs, Asmaa enjoys playing with accessories. “I love wearing accessories. They can turn a simple outfit from plain and dull to high fashion and from casual daywear to formal evening wear,” she added.
