QUETTA: Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry cast his vote on live television and urged all citizens to leave their homes to vote, reported Express News on Saturday.

The chief justice was present at the polling station along with his son and smiled for pictures as he voted.

“Elections are a proof of the superiority of the constitution of Pakistan. It is the duty of every citizen to leave their homes and go cast a vote so that we can see good governance in our country in the future”, he said.

In a democracy all citizens are equal and treated the same. This is particularly important in polling stations. How come this citizen was accompanied by dozens of burly heavyweights? Are we all supposed to have a procession with us when we go to cast our vote? Does this exhibition not break some laws?
