Electioneering: Security arrangements in Malakand Division

As part of security arrangements 600 police personnel have been deputed.

All necessary arrangements have been completed for holding of free and fair elections in Malakand Division amid tight security measures to ward off the possibility of any untoward incidents.


This was stated by DIG Abdullah Khan on Thursday. He said that each police station of the area have been given additional vehicles and ammunition for cure up purposes.

He said that 40 extra jawans have also been given to DSP of each circle. He said that security arrangements have been enhanced and all available resources would be utilised for the peaceful holding of electoral process.

A total of 101 candidates are in the run for five national constituencies in areas of Swat, Buner, Shangla, Dir Upper, Dir Lower and Chitral while 242 candidates are participating in elections on 21 provincial constituencies. As part of security arrangements 600 police personnel have been deputed to provide security to contesting candidates.

Malakand division has more than 5 national assembly seats, Please rectify the error.
