PESHAWAR: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has demanded the removal of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Governor Shaukatullah Khan, Express News reported on Wednesday.

Rehman wrote a letter to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to express his reservations over the governor.

In his letter, Rehman said that free and fair elections under Shaukatullah are not possible.

President Asif Ali Zardari had appointed former Federal Minister for States and Frontier Region Engineer Shaukatullah as governor on February 9.

Shaukatullah replaced former governor Syed Masood Kausar, who was also a former senator of the Pakistan Peoples Party.

PTI fans please stop to ask why he is asking for Governor's removal. His father is running for a seat in Bajaur and he is using sate machinery to support him. Gov. might also be influencing elections in favor Akhunzada Chitan. Fazal has a point which PTI must support.
