Unauthorised Rallies: PTI, AML served notices

The DCO says any party violating the code of conduct would be sent a show cause notice.

RAWALPINDI:
The Rawalpindi City District Government (CDG) on Tuesday issued a show-cause notice to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Awami Muslim League (AML) for taking out rallies in the city without prior permission. Talking to APP, DCO Rashid Langrial said that both the PTI and AML had violated the election code of conduct by taking out rallies without permission from the city authorities, adding that ordinary citizens had to face a lot of difficulties because of the rally. The code of conduct stipulates that political parties must obtain permission from the CDG at least three days prior to holding a procession or rally. The CDG then has the discretion to grant or refuse permission in view of the security situation. The DCO said any party violating the code of conduct would be sent a show cause notice.
