Clarifying misconceptions: JPMC denies news report
JPMC clarifies hat the meeting was held to tell Sethi about the problems they are facing post-devolution.
KARACHI:
The Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) has denied that its official met cabinet secretary Nargis Sethi to request that the institution should be taken back into the federal government.
Denying a news report, the JPMC issued a statement on Friday clarifying that the meeting was held to tell Sethi about the problems they are facing post-devolution.
“These problems are genuine and in many ways common to all the devolved institutions, such as JPMC, National Institute of Child Health and National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases,” read the statement.
These problems are affecting more than 50,000 employees of the devolved institutions, it said.
The secretary told the JPMC officials that the caretaker government cannot resolve these issues, but they would be addressed by the next government.
