Road mishap: Two killed, four injured in accident

Lashkar Kurmang-bound passenger van skids into ditch.

SHANGLA: Two people were killed and four others injured when a passenger vehicle plunged into a ravine in Shenai area of Shangla district on Friday.

Bisham police official Muhammad Ali said locals told the police about the accident at around noon. The van, loaded with passengers, was en route to Lashkar Kurmang from Bisham Kurmang at the time.

“The driver, Akhtar Ali, was taking a sharp turn when the vehicle skidded and fell into the ravine. Muhammad Ayaz and his sister-in-law Nazo Bibi died on the spot while Mukhtar Begum, wife of Ayaz, his sisters Khush Rango Bibi, Zaitoon Bibi and brother Bakht Zada were critically injured,” said the official.

Ali added he rushed to the site along with other police officials and retrieved the bodies, while the injured were shifted to Bisham Civil Hospital.

The injured were later referred to Ayub Medical Hospital, Abbottabad due to their critical condition.
