Cricket: KESC edge closer to Grade-II semis

Akbarur Rehman continued his sublime form this season as his five-wicket haul and half-century helped KESC edge one step closer to the Patron’s Trophy Grade-II semi-finals after taking a first-innings lead against Pakistan Steel on day one.


KESC ended the day at 206 for three while replying to Pakistan Steel’s 132. Meanwhile, Rizwan Ahmed’s unbeaten 180 off 157 with fives sixes and 23 boundaries helped PTV score 366 for four in reply to Face Fresh’s paltry 63. Elsewhere Omar Associates are closing in on a big win against ETPB, who were struggling at 52 for four in their second innings. ETPB got out for 144 in their first innings before Omar Associates declared their innings at 217 for one.
