LOS ANGELES: Singer-songwriter Madonna could be banned from future trips to Russia, for backing the Pussy Riot singers.

At the gigs, she backed the two Pussy Riot singers who are jailed for a protest against President Vladimir Putin. Gig organisers face fines of up to 10,500 pounds while Madonna, 54, could be refused future visas, reports thesun.co.uk.

The pop star supported the anti-Putin protest group and spoke in favour of gay rights.

Madonna did two shows in Moscow and St. Petersburg last year. But officials now claim her visa did not allow her to work for money.
