Caretaker chief minister dismisses talks of elections being delayed as rumours
Justice (retrd) Alavi says his team is trying to meet the challenges of holding free, fair and transparent elections.

The caretaker Sindh chief minister Justice (retd) Zahid Kurban Alavi on Tuesday dismissed as rumours of hype that the general elections could be postponed, and that the upcoming elections will be held on time, as scheduled.
While addressing the opening ceremony of “Australian Day in Spring 2013,” organised by the Australian High Commission at a local hotel on Monday.
Justice (retd) Alavi said that his team has been trying to meet the challenges of holding free, fair and transparent elections. “We will accomplish this task and hand over the government to elected representatives.”
The interim chief minister expressed his firm resolve and commitment to maintain and control the law and order situation before the general elections.
Australian High Commission Peter Heyward said that Pakistan and Australia are old friends and that the Australian government has supported many projects in Pakistan. He said that they (Pakistan and Australia) are finding new ways in different fields to further promote and strengthen bilateral relations.
