Police Targeted: Sub-inspector gunned down

Police said Shah was present in the tehsil when unknown men on a motorcycle opened fire at him.

A sub-inspector of the crime scene department, Islam Shah, was killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire at him in Kotwali area on Saturday evening.


Police said Shah was present in the tehsil when unknown men on a motorcycle opened fire at him, leaving him seriously injured. He was rushed to the Lady Reading Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The assailants managed to escape.

“He was a sub-inspector with the Crime Scene Department, which is mainly responsible for the collection of finger prints from crime scenes,” said an official of Kotwali police station, adding Shah was a resident of Kotwali.
