Ephedrine case: Tauqir Ali Khan to testify against Gilani’s son

Tauqir Ali Khan, the alleged front man of Ali Musa Gilani, agreed to become an approver against him in the ephedrine case on Friday.


The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) prosecutor Shahid Abbasi submitted an application before the Control of Narcotics Substances Court on Friday and informed it that Khan had agreed to become an approver against Ali Musa Gilani, a former parliamentarian and son of former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani.

Control of Narcotics Substances Judge Arshad Mehmood Tabassum accepted the application and put off hearing till April 15. At the next date of hearing, Khan will record his statement against Musa Gilani.

According to the ANF, Khan was the front man of Musa Gilani and the mediator between the health officials and two pharmaceutical companies, Berlex and Danas. The ANF prosecution alleged that Khan managed the allocation of 9,500 kg of ephedrine from the health ministry.
