DERA ISMAIL KHAN:

A seven-year-old girl was raped at her neighbour’s house in Ratha Kullachi, north of DI Khan said a police official at the Saddar police station.

The mother of the victim lodged an FIR against the accused stating that her daughter had gone to play with other children at her neighbour’s house. The accused separated her from other children and took her to the roof where he raped her.

The girl’s mother told the police that when her daughter came home, she did not look well. The child eventually told her mother what had happened after which she was taken to a hospital.

The police officer investigating in the case, Khalid Mehmood, told The Express Tribune the accused has made a net for pigeons at his rooftop where he would invite the neighbourhood’s children to come and play.

Mehmood speculated this might not have been the first time the accused has assaulted a child.

Police raided his house and arrested the culprit.
