Crime: Shop robbed; five arrested; bike lifted

Robbers looted Rs2,500 cash, two mobile phones and other valuables and escaped after locking the staff inside the shop

A shop was robbed in the limits of Sadiqabad Police Station on Monday night. Muhammad Iqrar Khan lodged a complaint with the police that two armed robbers broke into his shop and held him hostage.


They looted Rs2,500 cash, two mobile phones and other valuables and escaped after locking the staff inside the shop.

Meanwhile, the same police on Tuesday nabbed five gamblers and seized Rs51,520 stake money and two mobile phones from their possession.

Acting on a tip-off, a police party raided a gambling den in the Sadiqabad area and arrested Javed, Shahzad, Khan Akbar, Tehsin Sohail and Nawaz.

Moreover, Muhammad Shahzad lodged a report with the same police
that his motorcycle (RIA-6336) has been stolen from outside his house in A-Block.

The police registered separate cases against the lawbreakers but no arrests or recoveries have been made yet, said an official while talking to The Express Tribune.
