Amazing Race 2.0: A thrilling scavenger hunt
Clues given to students included eating chilli garlic sauce and performing 20 push-ups at a park.
KARACHI:
The Amazing Race 2.0, organised by the Szabist Adventure Society, was a scavenger hunt aimed at testing the partaker’s mettle and ingenuity. The event involved participant teams from various universities, including NED University, Dow Medical University, Altamash Medical and Dental Institute, and Szabist.
The team from NED University, constituting Manoj Wadwani, Shagar Jasrani and Nidesh Bhojwani, emerged as winners and were given the prize money of Rs25,000 at the finish line.
The participants were led on hunt around Karachi in a bid to find clues that would ultimately direct them to their final destination.
The clues were placed in strategic locations around Clifton, Defence and Saddar. Each team was supervised by a facilitator to keep a check on their speed limit and to ensure that they fulfilled the criteria provided by the tasks.
Talking to The Express Tribune, Szabist Adventure Sports Society president, Hamza, said that the idea had been adapted from the popular TV show of the same name which aired on an action sports channel.
“It has been endorsed by the Szabist administration who also sponsored the event with the amount of Rs50,000,” he explained.
“It is a great idea! Fun-filled activities like this should be conducted more often, and of course the prize money is a big appeal,” said Avinash, a student from Dow University, also taking part in the event.
The clues, which started with having a breakfast meal at Boat Basin, asked of the participants to complete various tasks, such as eating a container of chilli garlic sauce at a restaurant and performing 20 push-ups at a park near Szabist. Ultimately, they were led to their final destination at an MCB bank branch in the Clifton where the winner was announced.
