ISLAMABAD: The interior ministry on Tuesday approved a tender for provision of lamination paper to the Passport and Immigration (P&I) department.

The tender was awarded to a foreign company by the committee that included secretary ministry of interior, Director General of P&I Wajid Bukhari and Project Director Machine Readable Passport Maqbool Gondal, among others.

The process for approval of tender was pending for over weeks as the former Interior Minister Rehman Malik cancelled an earlier one awarded to a German firm.
