Chaudhry Sagheer Virk told reporters that Zafar Iqbal Virk, his older brother, was a trader.
Last week, a malang approached him and said that he could help him double his money.
When Zafar told him to show him how he would do it, the swindler put a small amount of soil on Zafar’s palm and told him to make a fist.
He then mumbled something and told him to open his hand. Zafar found a pearl in his hand.
The malang asked him to close his hand and then asked him to open it. This time, the pearl had been replaced by a rose, which the swindler asked Zafar to smell. As soon as Zafar did that, he fainted.
He regained consciousness a couple of hours later to find that the Rs20,000 he had on him was missing. Sagheer said Zafar had been communicating with the family by writing notes.
