SNGPL takes action against employees

Management orders high level inquiry, reprimands staff across the board.

LAHORE:

General Manager (GM) Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) Sohail Gulzar Saturday ordered a high level inquiry against Distribution Engineer Sub Region Harbanspur Faraz Nadeem for "utter failure to redress the genuine grievances of the people".

Official sources said on Saturday that the GM had directed all field officers to conduct surprise visits to various offices of sub-regions to monitor the performance of officers and staff for providing services to the consumers.

The GM ordered the inquiry when it was brought to his notice that staff at SNGPL sub region at Harbancepura was not cooperating with the consumers to address their grievances and problems. He directed all in charge of the sub regions, including chief engineers, distribution engineers, accounts officers and deputy chief administrative officer and heads of billing sections to address the public complaints on top priority or face strict action irrespective of their designation.

One of the customers told the GM that after payment of demand note and despite the Managing Director’s (MD) order, the executive engineer concerned was using delaying tactics and not installing the connection at the Lahore Press Club Housing Scheme. SNGPL MD Arif Hameed had also taken notice of staff negligence.
