Inferno: Fire breaks out at towel factory

The chief fire officer say it was a third degree fire and the cause has yet to be ascertained.

KARACHI: A fire broke out in a towel factory in New Karachi on Wednesday.

According to the fire department, a total of 15 fire trucks and a snorkel took part in the rescue operation and managed to control the blaze after hectic efforts of over four hours.

Ehteshamuddin Siddiqui, the chief fire officer, said the it was a third degree fire and the cause has yet to be ascertained.

All employees of the factory were evacuated in time and no loss of life was reported.

However, financial losses from the fire ran in millions, the police said.
