Inferno: Two houses gutted in fire
Shabir claimed he and his brother suffered a loss of over Rs500,000.

Two houses were gutted in the district’s countryside causing a loss of hundreds of thousands to the owners, said police on Wednesday.
Police quoted Shabir, a resident of Muhallah Gandiyala Pattan Kalan, as saying he was attending a marriage ceremony with members of his family when a fire broke out in the kitchen, engulfing his entire house.
He further said the fire spread to his younger brother’s house, completely destroying both buildings and the valuables they contained.
Shabir claimed he and his brother suffered a loss of over Rs500,000. He demanded the government compensated him for his loss.
