Of land and grants: Lawyers meet CM

Shah lauded the role of lawyers in the restoration and strengthening of democracy.

KARACHI:
A 15-member delegation of the Karachi Bar Association (KBA) met Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah on Monday at CM House.

Shah lauded the role of lawyers in the restoration and strengthening of democracy and added that he himself belonged to the lawyers’ community and had struggled for the same.

KBA president Naeem Qureshi told the CM of the problems in getting grants for the association and land for its members.


Shah announced a grant of Rs2.5 million for the welfare of the association.

Separately, a 12-member delegation of the Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA), led by Mustafa Lakhani, also visited CM House.

The meeting was attended by the Sindh law minister Ayaz Soomro, social welfare minister Nargis ND Khan and others.
