Fake vaccination case: Court orders reinstatement of 17 LHWs

The LHWs filed a petition with PHC’s Abbottabad bench on April 16, 2012 challenging their dismissal.

ABBOTTABAD: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) Divisional Bench on Thursday reinstated all Lady Health Workers (LHW) who were removed on charges of aiding Dr Shakil Afridi, the CIA operative that helped track Osama Bin Laden in the Abbottabad.

Bin Laden was reportedly tracked during a fake vaccination drive headed by Dr Shakil Afridi.

According to charges framed against 17 LHWs by health authorities, they all participated in the fake vaccination drive and helped Dr Shakil collect blood samples from Bin Laden’s grandchildren.

The LHWs filed a petition with PHC’s Abbottabad bench on April 16, 2012 challenging their dismissal. Justice Yahya Afridi and Justice Seth Waqar ordered the 17 workers’ reinstatement.

Those reinstated are Ameraizan Bibi, Mumtaz Bibi, Rukhsana Parvin, Yasmin Bibi, Farzana Bibi, Rehana Bibi, Razia Bibi, Chand Bibi, Nasim Akhtar, Gulfraz Bibi, Kosar Bibi, Nabila Bibi, Norin, Shagufta, Farhat, Naheed, Nasim Jan.
