Election preparation: ‘Inform candidates about code of conduct’

The training programme for returning officers will begin in a few days, says Munir.

The divisional commissioner urged on Thursday that the election code of conduct be followed in letter and spirit. DC Ejaz Munir was presiding over a meeting of the Divisional Election Coordination Committee at his office on Thursday. 


The commissioner directed the district officials to educate the candidates about the code of conduct of the Election Commission of Pakistan. He also told them to forward reports on any violations. The meeting was informed that wall chalking was prohibited and their was a limit to banners the candidates could display. Display of weapons was also banned at the election meetings and processions. Munir said that training programme for returning officers would begin in a few days.
