Elections: Provincial commissioners outline security concerns in K-P, Balochistan
Punjab faces no security threat during elections, says provincial election commissioner.
The provincial election commissioners of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan submitted their reports to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) outlining security concerns during upcoming elections, Express News reported on Monday.
Kurram and Orakzai Agency in K-P and Dera Bugti in Balochistan were marked as highly sensitive areas in the report.
The provincial commissioners suggested that the ballot papers be brought to the sensitive areas by air, and advised special security to be arranged for elections.
Punjab’s election commissioner, however, reported that the province faces no security threat during the elections.
On Friday, the army assured the election commission of providing security at polling stations and in sensitive areas of the country.
