The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Zaka Ashraf condoled the death of former cricketer Haseeb Ahsan, who passed away yesterday after protracted illness, at the age of 73.
“Haseeb was not only a superb Test cricketer but also a good administrator who intimately knew the game,” said Ashraf. “His death is a loss to the cricketing fraternity.”
A Test cricketer of the late 1950 and early 1960, Ahsan, who was a right-arm off-spinner, gained prominence as a chief selector and as manager of the Pakistan squads in the 1980s.
“The PCB prays to the Almighty to bestow the departed soul with eternal peace and grant the family and the dear ones the fortitude to bear this loss.”
