All passengers on board remained unharmed.
The PIA flight 363 was coming from Islamabad and was two hours late.
The reason behind the emergency landing is not known as yet.
An emergency was declared at the airport as a result of the incident.
According to the authorities, the tyres will be repaired immediately and the plane will fly back to Islamabad.
Earlier in February 2013, a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) passenger plane with about 70 people on board crash-landed on the runway of Oman’s main airport in Muscat.

@Singh: actually its not repaired wheels will b replaced. this is called repaired of the aircraft not the tyre
Thanks to god...all the passengers remained safe in the incident. The PIA engineers, later, examined the aircraft as there was no word from the airline spokesman on the incident.
@Siddique Malik: You are right. I wonder why Govt is in business of running an air line ?
as per my info based on one passenger account, it was a bad/ hard landing on one wheel that caused this...even it resulted in broken landing gear and hole in the cabin under a seat...
@Singh: You are right. Unlike car tires, airplane tires are replaced with new ones. Reason being that a repaired tire cannot withstand the landing pressure per sq inch and can burst. Also at takeoff the psi rapidly increases with rotation friction that can cause a repaired tire to burst.
@MS: CJ's intervention in just about everything has made a mockery of the rule of law and separate roles of the three branches of government -- the executive branch , legislature and judiciary. Now you want him start to interfere in commercial flight matters? If you want PIA to learn a lesion, stop flying on it. If enough customers boycott a business, it fixes itself quickly. This is the basic rule of a free market economy. Siddique Malik, Louisville, Kentucky, USA.
The only suo-moto action should be put this airline out of its misery. Shut it down today before someone gets killed.
@shakakhan: They just changed their names.
@Khawar- If they stayed Sikh this would not have happen. Wonder what changed!!
@Singh: It is very much possible as their forefathers were Sikhs.
According to the authorities, the tyres will be repaired immediately and the plane will fly back to Islamabad. Do they they use "Fix A Flat". Never heard any anybody use repaired tyre on even small Cessna plane. Anything possible in Pakistan. If car can run on water then it is very small thing.
Dear Chief Justice Sb,
We request you to urgently take Suo-Moto Action against PIA on whom thousands of Passengers travel daily to National & much more frighteningly, International destinations, risking their lives & those of its family who are the most effected & under stress whilst their loved ones are flying in these "FLYING COFFIN" called PIA flights.
This needs complete grounding & inspection by world recongnized Aviation Experts of USA & EU of PIA Aircrafts & Staff & Systems used as previously grounded PIA Aircrafts & untrained Crew Members operating in very dubious & safety lacking situations are a huge danger to the lives of innocent flying but those who will be effected in it's path, God forbidden a disaster occurs.
It should serve as a timely reminder that EU & USA has grounded PIA flights many times & for long terms until PIA managed to find a way to fix some major problems to resolve the flight ban imposed by the EU Countries & USA.
Constant incidents of Busted Tires, Emergency landings due to fire & Engine malfunction or stoppage, provides sufficient & urgent attention to call for such an inquiry.
