Lawyers boycotted courts in Quetta and towns of Balochistan on Tuesday

QUETTA:
Lawyers boycotted courts in Quetta and towns of Balochistan on Tuesday in protest against the mysterious disappearance of Prosecutor General Abdul Wasay Tareen. He went missing from Zhob district on February 28 while traveling to Islamabad for hearings of Supreme Court cases. On the call of the Balochistan Bar Association and Balochistan High Court Bar Association, lawyers boycotted proceedings in the high court and subordinate courts in Quetta. Litigants suffered. There were reports that lawyers also boycotted courts in towns such as Loralai, Zhob, Pishin, Mastung and Kalat. Earlier, the Balochistan High Court had taken notice of the disappearance and directed the IG police to find Tareen as soon as possible.
