I visited Karachi in January 2013 and witnessed the drama of Tahir Ul Qadri who had the full backing of Pakistan Army. Visit Karachi Cant area. It is quiet calm. If you want to enter Karachi Cant area, you have to go to an office and fill up a form and then you are allowed in. This is as if you are going to another country. I was in Karachi from 1947 to 1962. There was no such checking on movements by Pakistanis. They can visit any place. Just like, London, Washington, etc. Pakistan Army cantonments are right in the centre of big cities. This is to show the people that we are mighty and control the nation. The lawlessness that we see can be dealt with if just one or two criminals are arrested and publicly sentenced. This happens all over the world. Criminals are caught and sentenced. In Karachi in broad-day light, crimes take place. NO ACTION. I still remember the scene of broad daylight looting of shops in Boulton Market, Karachi during the dictatorship of General Musharraf. NO ONE was apprehended. When General Musharraf was in power, he did not pursue the cases against criminals and on the contrary gave them a pardon. What does it show?

A big loss indeed. Feelings cannot be expressed in words.
He was one of our teachers in university. This is sick. There were no Shis Sunni issues for many years now. Neither do I believe that Taliban alone, living under a rock, have the means to attack our bases and destroy our jets. Not without foreign aid.
Work of Indian Intelligence (RAW) in the name of sectarian violence
its the third targeted attack on shia military officials and 1 of them was carried out in one of the navy installations ,
RIP :-(
He died in the line of duty. Salute to him. Human life is so cheap in Pakistan. Is there any end to senseless killings?
I really don't get how they can't immediately at least have a large number of people brought in for questioning when that stuff happens.
Masked drive-by shootings are usually a pretty clear calling card even without them announcing they did it. Not to mention which locations that are hit narrow it down some. There might be a number of groups that would do that but they should still know it was one of them. Narrowing it down by questioning people from all of those group is this weird thing people call "investigating." Unless Pakistan has a drastically different view on what their job responsibilities and it's probably safe to say they don't.
COAS ur sons are being martyred in broad day light? have some guts to stand against the evil..!
