Entrepreneurial challenge: Students of Sukkur IBA among winning teams

The top five business plans were selected from the 2,500 participating teams.

SUKKUR: The team of students from the Institute of Business Administration, Sukkur was among the top five selected out of the 2,500 teams participating in a business plan competition, the Prime Minister’s Entrepreneurial Challenge - also called ‘Discover - Prosperity through Entrepreneurship’.

Organised by the NUST Centre for Innovation & Entrepreneurship, the programme aims “to define a path towards creating a self-sustaining eco-system for higher education and wealth generation.”

Thousands of students from over 56 universities and higher education institutes across Pakistan competed in an intense and engaging competition where their ideas were transformed into practical business plans.

More than 2,000 teams submitted their business ideas out of which 60 best ones were selected and asked to send in their business plans. Based on the plans, top ten teams were selected and were asked to deliver a presentation.

The judges then announced the top five ideas which were chosen as winners, and among them was Sukkur IBA’s “Zarai Otaq”. Through this idea, the students will provide agricultural support and assistance to farmers of the underdeveloped areas of rural Sindh.
