Kabaddi: Javed to lead Pakistan in Sharjah

The event will be played till March 3 among teams from India, the UK, Canada and Iran besides hosts UAE and Pakistan.

Musharraf Javed has been announced captain of the Pakistan team for the inaugural Kabaddi Premier League that begins in Sharjah from February 28. The Pakistan Kabaddi Federation announced the 14-player squad following the selection committee’s meeting yesterday. Mohammad Sajjad has been named vice captain. The event will be played till March 3 among teams from India, the UK, Canada and Iran besides hosts UAE and Pakistan at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Pakistan team coach Tahir Waheed Jutt said the team was aiming to give a good show with its eyes set to tame India at the neutral venue.The squad includes Javed (captain), Sajjad (vice captain), Afzal Bajwa, Mohammad Mansha, Mohammad Aslam, Khalil Ahmed, Saifullah, Mohammad Irfan, Imtiaz Alam, Babar Waseem, Mohammad Shafiq, Ubaidullah, Akhtar Khan and Shafiq Ahmed.
