In need of repairs: 15 girls injured when building collapses

Executive district officer of education in Khairpur had failed to address the problem despite several complaints.

SUKKUR: Fifteen female students of a primary school in Gagri, Khairpur, were injured when the roof of their classroom collapsed on Tuesday.

The girls, including Sadia, Aqsa, Aneesa and Uzma, were shifted to Civil Hospital, Khairpur.

Two of the girls, Ameena and Naghma, have received severe head injuries and are in critical condition.

The residents alleged that the school building was in severe need of repairs.

The executive district officer of education in Khairpur, Amanullah Bhayo, had failed to address the problem even though several complaints had been made, they added.
