HYDERABAD:

A new district court in Matiari, completed at the cost of Rs140 million, was inspected by Sindh High Court Chief Justice Mushir Alam, on Monday.

Pakistan Muslim League-Functional’s district president, Syed Zulfiqar Shah Jamote, donated the land for the building. While speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Justice Alam pointed out that the lawyers in Matiari had wanted the court to be built since a long time as they had to travel to Hyderabad for their cases.

He expressed the hope that the presence of a court in Matiari will encourage the youth to opt for the legal profession and will redress the shortage of lawyers in the district.

Matiari became a district separate from Hyderabad in 2005. The authorities have appointed two judges for the new court. This move has been welcomed by the legal community of Matiari.
