At the district level, four candidates were contesting for the president seat. Khalil secured 415 votes against rival candidates Ishtiaq Urmar, Arshad Advocate and doctor Inayat, who received 300, 28 and 222 votes respectively.
Younas Zaheer was elected as general secretary, Gulbacha president town-1, Muhammad Jan president town-II, Arif Yousaf president town-III and Fazal Illahi president town-IV. Wajidullah and Sajid Nawaz were elected as senior vice presidents for Peshawar district.
More than 1,100 activists of the PTI cast votes for candidates contesting district and town seats at the Union Council level.
Earlier, results of intra-party polls in Peshawar had to be cancelled due to clashes between rival groups.
However, after re-elections took place, the candidates supported by PTI provincial leaders Pervaiz Khattak and Shoukat Yousafzai outshined their opponents, who had the support of PTI provincial president Asad Qaiser.
The PTI’s election commission has yet to announce polling dates for district Mardan where elections were postponed due to violent clashes between various groups.
Meanwhile, there has been a delay in announcing the results of elections in Charsadda, which were postponed due to allegations of widespread rigging in the polling process.

@Ahmed: Sir this phase of election is based on an elecrtoral college. Onle the people elected in UC level are voting for the district level office bearers. Noe these district office bearers will elect the provincial offices.

Congrat. to winners and Appreciation for runner-ups. PTI is becoming democratic party in true sense.
Although I am not a PTI supporter (as they haven't provided a road map to tackle Pakistan's problems), these internal elections certainly bolster PTI's democratic credentials, and are likely to win support of all of those who are sick and tired of the dynastical credentials of the other political parties.

@India: Has he decided to take part in the election? He may order a boycott of election as he is only authority to decide about it, in spite of the claims made of so called stalwarts of other parties who joined him and not his party.

Thanks for clarifying that the president was elected by the 1100 members of electoral college at the UC level. Initially i also thought why are there so less people voting. Nice to know. Im sure it will have a good impact on democracy in our country.
Just like PML-N was forced to do some good after PTI's rise (albeit may be their budget spending was not well prioritized), I hope this will also create pressure in their parties and may be other parties to do intra party elections.
@Ahmed...Dude it was district level elections. Only the elected members at UC level could cast vote in it.
@ahmed, Its 1100 vote from the electoral college of Union Council representative. 13 representatives were elected from each union council who in turn elected the district representative. Union councilors were elected in the first round. You can do the maths on how many people do these 1100 vote represents.

Direct elections are held at UC level, and winners of UCs elect their highers, and they elect their higher ups...

Bravo to Mr. Imran Khan, despite growing internal pressure from the party members to cancel intra party elections and prepare for general elections, his resolve for democracy within is paying off. I am yet to see any party with a tailor master as district president, a rickshaw driver as VP and list goes on. Highly commendable.
1100 votes in total?? Well, if same trend remains in other intra-party elections or national elections, (where PTI members do not even have voting option by sms), the fate of PTI shall be very clear and a very gloomy picture.

Can any Pakistani friends tell me if they think Imran Khan really has any chance of winning? Also where (which seat) is he going to be contesting from? Has that been decided? Probably Khyber Pakhtunwa I guess?
