Arrest me, but don’t victimise innocent people: NPP’s Arif Mustafa Jatoi

National Peoples Party’s Arif Mustafa Jatoi moved an adjournment motion on providing electricity to some villages in his constituency of Naushero Feroze district, during the Sindh Assembly session on Thursday.
He felt the government was deliberately victimising the people. “Arrest me if you want, but why are you punishing the poor people of my constituency for our opposition to your policies,” he said.
In response, several Pakistan Peoples Party ministers spoke against his criticisms of their policies. Finance minister Murad Ali Shah refused to move the motion on grounds that it was not specific. The government has spent Rs8 billion to provide gas in rural areas, he pointed out.
Meanwhile, local government minister Agha Siraj Durrani vowed to give jobs in various government sectors. “If anyone has any objections, they can go to court against us.,” he said, referring to the election commission’s ban on employment.
