The Sindh health department has constituted a six-member board to determine the age of Shahrukh Jatoi, the prime suspect of Shahzeb Khan’s murder.
The board, formed in compliance of court orders, will examine the age of the accused on February 6, said a health ministry. The board is headed by Professor Junaid Ashraf, the principal of Dow Medical College.
On January 17, the court had directed the medical superintendent of services hospital to constitute a medical board to conduct Shahrukh’s ossification test to determine his age. On January 30, the anti-terrorism court issued a show-cause notice to police surgeon Dr Jalil Qadir for preparing a certificate of the test even though he was not authorised to do so. According to Dr Qadir’s certificate, Shahrukh was a minor.
