Ghous Bux Mahar joins PML-F

Mahar says he had quit PML-Q after developing differences over the local government ordinance.

Mahar has maintained that he had resigned himself and was not removed by the party from the post of federal minister.

KARACHI:
Former Sindh chief of Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid (PML-Q) Ghous Bux Mahar announced joining PML-Functional (PML-F) on Wednesday along with his son.

Mahar held a press conference with PML-F chief Pir Pagara in Karachi where he made the announcement. He said that he had quit PML-Q because of differences over the Sindh Peoples Local Government Ordinance (SPLGO).

Mahar has maintained that he had resigned himself and was not removed by the party from the post of federal minister.

Several PML-Q leaders had also expressed reservations with the party after Mahar resigned. The leaders included Federal Minister for Education and Training Sheikh Waqas Akram, Minister of Production Awar Ali Cheema (incidentally, a close relative of the PML-Q chief) and former Balochistan chief minister Jam Yousaf.
