What total nonsense. Everybody knows the US supports any type of Government, which is to America's advantage. A good example is US support of Saudi Arabia, which has to be the least democratic country on earth.
We all know the Democratic Party supports democracy in other countries whereas Republicans support Kings, Sheiks, and military dictators. That is why when a Republican is elected there is euphoria in Pakistani establishment. When Clinton visited India and a short visit to Pakistan he refused to be seen in any picture with Gen Mush. With Obama's re-election the US govt is not going to be friends with anti-democratic forces. Gen Zia and Mush have exploited the presence of Republican presidents to their dictatorial advantage but it is 21st century and America is changing fast.
Who was the biggest supporter of Pakistan during Ayub's, Zia's, Musharraf's regimes? Yes. It is exactly who you think it was.
US only supports democratic government in Pakistan.
yes exactly ... like Zia ul Haq and Musharraf's !!!!
.....yes, the democrat of their choice.
Such remarks should have been made during Qadri's protest.
Angels from heaven supported Ayub, Zia and Musharaf. Currently, angels usually bypass the democratic Government to hold talks with military.
Mr. ambassador! can you please explain where is "democratic government" in Pakistan?
U.S. supports democratic government in Pakistan...yep, only when it needs to it. Otherwise it is also comfortable working with any Ayub/Zia/Musharraf 2.0 if need be because the end game is also approaching.
Thank you for NRO by the way.
