Crackdown: 10 maunds substandard meat seized

DCO ordered the butchers to get quality certificates for the meat before selling it.

GUJRANWALA: Ten maunds of sub-standard meat was seized on Thursday in a raid at an illegal slaughterhouse. The men at the slaughterhouse fled. The raids, supervised by a special magistrate, were conducted in Girjakh area. District coordination officer had issued orders prohibiting butchers from slaughtering cattle in paces other than government slaughterhouses. He had also ordered the butchers to get quality certificates for the meat before selling it.
