Indus motor company: Murakami appointed to board

K Murakami has been appointed as the vice chairman and director on the company’s board.

KARACHI: The Indus Motor Company has announced the appointment of K Murakami as the vice chairman and director on the company’s board. The Indus Motor Company is a progressive assembler and sole distributor of Toyota and Daihatsu products in Pakistan. Murakami replaces K Hyodo, who has taken up responsibilities in Toyota Motor Corporation, Japan. Murakami has been serving at Toyota Motor Corporation for over 30 years now, and has worked in different capacities; primarily in the areas of product planning and marketing research. He has looked after Toyota’s business in Asia, Oceania and Middle East, with various Toyota distributors. Prior to joining the Indus Motor Company, Murakami had served as executive director at UMWT – the Toyota distributor in Malaysia.
