KARACHI: At least two people were injured when some men hurled hand grenades at a petrol pump in Surjani Town, and at a scrap store in Orangi Town on Monday.  A bystander and a security guard were injured in the attack at a Total petrol pump in Khuda Ki Basti. They were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Orangi Town SSP Nasir Aftab claimed that extortionists had carried out the attack, and added that suspects had opened gunfire at the same petrol pump a few weeks ago. The culprits “likely belong to the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan”.  In another incident, a scrap store in Orangi Town was damaged after some men lobbed a hand grenade at it from Banaras flyover. SSP Aftab suggested that extortionists might be involved in the incident as well.
