Saeed Ajmal, who was controversially snubbed in last year’s International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Awards, is likely to be named Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Player of the Year this weekend, according to officials.
While the board has not made any such announcement, insiders said that the PCB will arrange a reception in honour of team where it will also name the best performers of 2012.
“The reception will be held on Saturday,” said an official.
Meanwhile, the PCB was also expected to announce awards for the best player in all three formats. Azhar Ali is the top contender for Tests while Nasir Jamshed is likely to be named best ODI player. Jamshed is also a contender for the Twenty20 award alongwith captain Mohammad Hafeez while Misbahul Haq is expected to get best captain of the year award.

Yes, he should be encouraged with all national awards since AICC ( Apartheid ICC) will continue to ignore him for being Pakistani.
This team has the potential to excel. Let's hope they stay focused.

@salaar:
He is a bowler salaar not a bowling god seriously. Every bowler has been smacked at various occasions by the opposition. After all the opposing party is there to play too :)
Ajmals is number one bowler in the world, but sometimes he become over-confident and get hit for 6's by the likes of Hussey and Yuvraj.
