LAHORE:

The Lahore Development Authority tore down the gates and walls of three illegal housing societies off Ferozepur Road here on Tuesday.

The entrance gate, boundary wall and sewerage system of Ali Homes, near the Nigar railway crossing along Katcha Road; two gates and the boundary wall of Subhan Gardens, situated in Old Kahna; and the boundary wall, road and sewerage system of Akhterabad Housing Scheme, also in Old Kahna, were demolished by LDA Metropolitan Wing staff.

“The action was taken for the awareness of general public so that they do not purchase any plot in the illegal housing schemes,” said an LDA press release. “People [should] ascertain the legal status of a housing scheme or a plot before making any transaction.”
