KARACHI:
The police’s request to freeze the bank accounts of the Jatoi and Talpur brothers has been turned down. Inspector Mohammad Mobin, who is investigating the case, had filed an application in the Anti-Terrorism Court-III to seek an order to freeze the bank accounts of suspects Shahrukh Jatoi, his father Sikandar Jatoi, Nawab Siraj Talpur and his brother Nawab Sajjad Talpur.
Public prosecutor Abdul Maroof, however, raised a legal objection and returned the application. The anti-terrorism court has no powers to pass such an order under Section 94 of the Criminal Procedure Code, he said. Only a high court can pass such orders, he pointed out.
