A meeting of the polio eradication committee of Swat district was held on Thursday with Deputy Commissioner Kamran Rehman Khan in the chair. Besides District Health Officer Dr Khurshid Ali and Deputy Superintendent of Police Amjad Ali, the meeting was also attended by representatives of other concerned departments and organisations.
The meeting reviewed security of polio teams and workers regarding the four-day polio vaccination campaign scheduled from January 14 till 17, and decided taking foolproof security arrangements in this regard. The deputy commissioner directed handing over duties of 150 levies personnel to district police for provision of security during the polio vaccination campaign. The meeting further decided seeking support of local units of Pakistan Army.
