The Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) successfully carried out a maritime rescue operation in the deep sea, saving 12 crew members from an Indian cargo ship that had sunk.
According to a PMSA spokesperson, the rescue operation was executed early on Wednesday morning after the sinking of the Indian vessel within Pakistan's Search and Rescue (SAR) zone. The 12 survivors were rescued with the help of PMSA ships, boats, and aircraft.
At around 10 AM, Pakistan's Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) received an urgent email from the MRCC Mumbai (India), requesting assistance in locating and rescuing the survivors of the sunken vessel. Prompt response and effective coordination between the two agencies led to the successful rescue of all 12 crew members.
The operation highlights PMSA’s readiness and professional expertise in responding to maritime emergencies, irrespective of nationality. It also underscores Pakistan's commitment to international maritime safety conventions and regional cooperation.
PMSA’s quick response not only demonstrates its efficiency in adhering to international search and rescue responsibilities but also reflects Pakistan’s dedication to ensuring maritime safety in the region.
