Javed, prime suspect behind attack on Chinese nationals near Karachi airport confessed to his involvement in the planning and execution of the bombing, Express News reported.

A significant breakthrough has emerged in the investigation of a suicide bombing targeting a Chinese convoy near Karachi airport, with the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) submitting an initial report in a second case linked to the attack.

On Monday, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) lodged another first information report (FIR) for suicide bombing outside the Karachi Airport which claimed the lives of three people, including two Chinese nationals.

The report, presented at the Karachi Anti-Terrorism Court, outlines new revelations from the interrogation of arrested militant Javed, who has confessed to his involvement in the planning and execution of the bombing.

According to the CTD, the bombing near the airport was carried out with the assistance of terrorist financing and detailed planning.

Javed's confessions have provided key insights, revealing that the attack was coordinated with the funding and planning of senior figures from the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), including commander Bashir Baloch and mastermind Abdul Rahman.

The report states that the plot was executed with the involvement of the slain militant Shah Fahd and Javed, who was arrested.

As part of the operation, a vehicle, purchased using the funds from the BLA, was filled with explosives and used in the bombing. The car, bought for Rs7.1 million, was paid for through a transaction at a private bank branch in Hub, Balochistan.

The CTD has named key figures from the BLA's Mehmood Brigade in connection with the attack, including Bashir Ahmad Baloch, alias Bashir Zeb, and Abdul Rahman, alias Rahman Gul, as well as officials at the bank in Hub who aided the militants.

The officers, Bilal and account holder Saeed Ali, are also included in the charges. The case has been filed by SHO Airport Police Inspector Mosi Kaleem, and the charges include terrorism, funding, explosives, murder, and other related offences.
