The entire Shahdadkot city is expected to wear a deserted look on Friday as activists of political parties, civil society representatives and members of the Pakistan Medical Association’s (PMA) Qambar-Shahdadkot chapter are going to protest against the abduction of eight people from various parts of the district.
The victims include the medical superintendent of the Miro Khan taluka headquarter hospital, Dr Abdul Wahab Wadho, and his driver, Musarat Abro. The two men were kidnapped on December 12 within Wagan police limits when they were on their way home from Hyderabad.
The hospital’s paramedic staff, as well as, doctors have been boycotting their outpatient duties since the incident. Families of other abductees have also been protesting for over a month. All of them claim that the culprits have demanded ransom for releasing their loved ones.
“We are conducting raids in locations where we suspect the culprits are hiding, and [hope] to recover the abductees soon,” said Shahdadkot DSP Ahmed Ali Sodhar.
