Session: Consumer groups learn about their rights

Participants were given information material on consumer complaint redressal mechanism in the energy sector.

The participants were given orientation on the concept of consumer protection and told about the consumer protection legislation in the country.



Consumer groups from Rawalpindi district were sensitised in a session in Rawalpindi on Monday, said a press release.


The participants were given orientation on the concept of consumer protection and told about the consumer protection legislation in the country.

They were also given information material on consumer complaint redressal mechanism in the energy sector.

At the session, the participants suggested that the there should be a consumer council of the district, so that consumers can submit their complaints at a familiar office near their residence.

District Consumer Protection Council Assistant Director Adnan Kareem, while interacting with the participants, said that people should not hesitate in contacting the council if they have any problems. He assured that people’s complaints will be addressed quickly.

Memebers of the Anjuman-e-Tajraan Rawalpindi, Mohallah Group, Private Teachers Association, Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Market Committees, Community Based Organization, District Consumer Protection Council attended the session, which was conducted by TheNetwork for Consumer Protection.
