On a tipoff on their whereabouts, a police team from Karachi raided a house in Dadu but the suspects managed to flee despite being surrounded.
Police officials claimed that the suspects had been on alert after the media broke the news.
DSP Aurangzeb Khan, the deceased’s father, alleged that influential people were asserting pressure for stopping their arrest, while the police was working for their arrest with responsibility.
20-year-old Shahzeb was killed over a small argument earlier. The prime suspects in the case, Nawab Siraj Talpur and Shahrukh Jatoi, have been on the run ever since.

@Sumaiya: Yes, there is a demand of change, but not by picking a wrong case. This is a clear case of corrupt versus more corrupt. Lets not get emotional on this, If we are willing to change the system then lets not talk of one case, lets talk about all the cases, develop a process and then push our government to adopt that process. Our courts take notice of 10 cases every day... is there a single example where justice is served? Where courts take brave decisions or the support departments provide courts evidences on which they can take decisions? Is transparent system dear sister that we are missing.
You have to understand that we as nation are super talented people, brilliant in things we do, Why can't we make our governments to walk straight? We can. Lets FOCUS on collective, straight forward actions, not get confused with this witch hunt we have wasted 65 years in.
@Asif Siddiqi: This is not is issue or poor or rich, corrupt or clean. It is a simple issue of justice.
@Mahira ... choose your battles wisely is all I'm saying. Change is required in the system. You can put as many emotional paragraphs and efforts as you want but that will not change the fate of Pakistan. Let the holy bullies and headless monsters fight on their own. We need to focus on our own issues.
And yes, we do need cynicism so that it can open our closed minds.
@All else. Appreciate your support for agreeing.
@Mahira: Don't know about Asif Siddiqi's "incoherent comments", but I found really hard to stay focused on your rumbling. It is easier for the readers if a comment is concise. I could easily trim three full paragraphs of your reply, where you needlessly went full throttle after Asif Siddiqi. Just a thought!
agreed @Sara and @Asif Siddiqi
@Asif Siddiqi - very well said. Thank you for your insight.
@eymaad - pls re-read mr.siddiqi's comments. This is not our fight. This is the corrupt police vs the corrupt feudals. Let them sort it out. Our fight and all our focus and all our emotions should be to change the system.
And here is what sets the middle-class apart from sons of DSPs and the feudals - I am quoting from what someone (Bilal Angel) wrote on the Sindh Police Facebook Page - Quoted from tribune express: "A fight broke out soon after, but Shahzeb’s father, DSP Aurangzeb, jumped in and quickly resolved the dispute, and the two men left on a good note. Everything seemed normal. Soon after, Shahzeb decided to have tea with his friends. "NOW as mr.Aurangzeb khan said in the news " Shahrukh jatoi nay jatay jatay teen chaar fire maray hawa mein or kaha inko nahi choro gay " THAN HOW COULD HE LEAVE HIS SON TO GO AND HAVE TEA WITH HIS FREINDS Did it occur to any of you that who goes to have "TEA" at 4 am at night after attending a wedding and picking up a fight? Did it not occur to you that he was also preparing for a fight and collecting his gang of friends? Shouldn't his father have told him to sit at home at 4am after he just had a fight? What if the Shahzeb had killed the 17 year old boy instead? would you not call Him a hero then? We are not saying that his death was justified, but we just want to open the eyes ................."
Agreed with Asif Siddique's.. specially the last sentences of her comment " nobody will be talking about this and the social page that you refer for change will be as barren as his grave." he himself was a big spoiled son of a high post police officers, and now that " police officer whose son has been killed may be able to realize all the pending inquiries under his jurisdiction of some one else’s son. "
@Eymaad ... What? how am i supporting them? All I'm saying is to get more educated and build strong institutions for EVERY ONE.
@Asif Siddiqi..why are you supporting those culprits, whtever u said does not justifies the killing..dont put stories, keep it simple Mr..
@Mahira: Dear Sister, since you have made points … let me reply in points
A DSP’s kid residing in an affluent neighborhood, studying in a elite private university, getting Suzuki swift as a birthday gift is a rich kid by all standards. (One wonders how a DSP is able to afford this all on this salary). You really need to understand the demographics of Pakistan. Mega Billionaires? May be… but their strength lies in the weakness of system which lets every one roam around freely, unchecked. Mega Billionaires can be law-abiding citizens as well .. if there is a system. The media even jumps into manholes if they are able to find a sizzling story. The two brothers from Sialkot were from lower class, but their story was pushed everywhere because it attracted viewership. This is how media works globally. You don’t look for moral values at such places. If this gets sizzling hot .. they will unearth it and cover it. Social pages are the way forward to raise voice. But understand the number of people accessing them in Pakistan (17%) and understand the mental level of people accessing internet. One pound fish song singers are also picked by media as they become hot commodity over social pages… That doesn’t bring any change. Political parties are part of problem, not solution. They are joy riding the issue for their benefits, had they been really serious they would have done something about their own people slaughtered. Don’t expect them to be your savior. Go back to 3 Which Pakistan are you talking about? In a country where of its population lives under $2 a day, you are thinking it’s changing or will change through a Social Page? Think …… His killers will realize? Since when did this start to happen in Pakistan. A region kept under mental allures since days of mogul’s …. you are talking about a race which is treacherous and adaptive of the living conditions, survival is all they know, means don’t carry a legal or illegal tag for them. It’s how it is right from the top level.. down to the commoner. People are supporting justice for his lad, because they are emotionally driven. These are sheep’s which shout a lot but one gun fire will send them back to home if they ever (which I doubt) take it to streets for justice. Its time Pakistan gets some education before deciding which side to take. Your support is noble but the cause is irrelevant in Pakistan’s battle for survival. I don’t know why your brother got beaten, so I can’t comment on it. Hopefully he is healthy now and understands that heroism is collective. Too many movies have created too many Tom Cruise (in their own mind) in Pakistan.Your intention is perfectly just, but don’t take side or initiate things because one incident happened and now we have to get re-active to it. Pakistan is under serious threats both from inside and outside. Our first line of action should be to bring honest people into government, which then creates a ripple effect. This will happen how .. is still mystery. Rise … if you want to … Be active … if you choose to … for the system. Not for a individual…. There were many killed before him and there are many killed as we speak … Lets rise for them all.
P.S: Mark my words … after a month … nobody will be talking about this and the social page that you refer for change will be as barren as his grave.
As far as i know one of the killers is a Talpur whereas other one is a Jatoi. Common, they are the owners, they can kill anyone, who are we pathetic insects anyhow.
@Ali Tabraiz: Dadu is not in Karachi LOL
What Bilawal and Zardari is doing for the arrest of the criminals and murderers as this is their own backyard. The culprits must be brought to justice. Any persons protecting the criminals should also be arreted and punished. Law must be enforced for influencials persons. Only the poor or middle class are punished where as rich persons are never sent to jail even they murder someone.
JUSTICE IF NOT IN THIS WORLD, THEN IN THE OTHER WHERE THERE WILL BE NO FEUDALS AND NO COROUPT BULLIES, ONLY GOD & HIS JUSTICE TILL THEN LIVING IN THIS JUNGLE OF GUNDAS MAY GOD PROTECT US.
@qwasi moto We Are The First One Who Posted The Photo's of Shahrukh Jatoi On Social Media Sindh Police Un-Official At Facebook www.facebook.com/sindhpolice1 www.twitter.com/sindhpolice

You reap what you sow! It is tragic that ones life has been taken, and the loss sufferred by the family. Aside from this, we have a culture of bullies…might is right… And both the feudals and civil functionaries are into it. Yes son’s of waderas we have a stero typical image, and is already seen how they roam the streets with armed guards, and all. But Senior Police wallas sons are the same. They even have more powers then their dad. So in this case, a feud gone wrong.
even though such thing shoudln't happen to any parent but this also needs to be understood that what goes around comes around
@Asif Siddiqui...this is ridiculous. Let me give you some factoids: 1. Shahzeb is not some rich, famous kid...he is from the middle class 2. His killers are mega-billionaires and have the protection of the highest order from Zardari. They clearly thought Shahzeb a common fly who deserved death for "badteemzi" with them. 3. The media refused to cover this and till now has barely covered it. 4. The only reason this poor kid has any chance of justice is because his sister made a facebook page and the word spread. 5. WIth the facebook page growing at alarming speed and incredible middle class support for Shahzeb, MQM and PTI (only two non-feudal but powerful parties) made statements against killers 6. Suddenly the Media was forced to pay attention. 7. Shahzeb's killers and their supporters should realize that this is not the old Pakistan anymore and there are movements and public forums that can challenge their murderous rampage.
People support Shahzeb not because he was a rich kid (he was not, just the son of a DSP), they support Shahzeb and justice for him because they identify with him. I support justice for Shahzeb because my brother was beaten up by feudals in Pajeros on Shahra-e-Faisal and he was completely innocent..he recovered in 3 weeks but thank goodness those gun-totting power-mongers did not shoot him. But Shahzeb could have been my brother and that's why I and countless others support the movement for Justice for Shahzeb.
Dude you nailed it ........ @Asif Siddiqi:
@qwasi moto: Pictures of the killers have been posted on social media. For facebook, please look up the page In memory of Shahzeb Khan and the hashtag Justiceforshahzebkhan on Twitter.
Name the influential people who are helping him run. NAME THEM for the sake of the country.
Send the Rangers. Send the Army. Whatever needs to be done. Bring the culprit in. Our Police is good for nothing.
Police should just issue shoot on sight orders for these killers. That would be a lesson to all.
Feudal and their likes have destroyed this Country. Unless and until average Pakistanis do not break-in their houses and eliminate these corrupt and characterless people along with their complete families, the fate of this Country is unlikely to change in a true manner. It is strange to think I once believed that our fate could change in an evolutionary and bloodless way. We will have to pay the price for the future of Pakistan in blood! The big question remains, are we ready for this? This is not a hate speech but a food for thought only!
Only reason for this case to be highlighted: (1) The deceased is the son of a non-Sindhi POLICEMAN; (2) The killer happens to be a Sindhi. And it is very easy to make up a story pinning the altercation between two parties, as a Sindhi versus non-Sindhi animosity (The title of the story was: "Murdered in cold blood: For Sindh's feudals, Karachi lives come cheap"). The same attitude was prevalent before 1971. But at that time Bengalis were at the receiving end.
Innocent life is lost. But I doubt the argument between the two parties was a minor one. It takes two to make a fight, and given the arrogance of the children of the army and police officials, during the argument it is unlikely Shahzeb had acted like a sheep.
The feudal terror is inescapable but the feudal elements can easily escape justice.
Police team from Karachi raided Dadu. Interesting! If it is the murder of a common man, the same police refuses to pick up even the body if it is at the boundary of its jurisdiction.
what is this happening in Pakistan?
Arrested ... if arrested then what? Do we have legal system which is just? Will they be able to find evidences? will they be able to find witness? Who are we kidding with?
Just because a rich kid was killed the entire media is jumping around as if its the first murder ever ... what about thousands of commoners who suffer and die every day? what about them?
This nation needs to get out of this "Only if it hurts me... I myself" phobia and become a nation to develop laws and system which ensure that none of this happens to ANY ONE.. and if it does there is a iron fist to crush it.
Till then ... we all are just waiting for our number ....
The police officer whose son has been killed may be will now realize all the pending inquiries under his jurisdiction of some one else's son. Absolute shame on us for being self Centric.
The interior police did not have the guts to open fire. Send them Rangers next time.
I dont know police why not able to arrest yet. If killer ordinary people, Police arrest their, brither, father any one Why not arrest these killers, father, brother or any other family member
And yet again the media behaves like a spoiler.
hang both of them publicly...
At least the accused have not absconded from the country. Insha'Allah they fill be found and arrested, and insha'Allah, justice will be delivered! Ameen.
You can run, but you cant hide. You might be able to hide, but you cant hide forever... RIP SHAHZEB... We will get them bro...
Police should do what they do to catch poor people. They should take into custody the entire families of the two absconders and give them the treatment. The two will surrender within hours.
Pictures of the killers should be posted on the social media so everyone knows the killers by face.
I like it how it reads: "managed to escape even after being surrounded by the police". Everyone manages to escape the police. They can catch anyone they want, IF they want. Is there no future for Karachi?
