Excise department sackings: Balochistan govt issued notice by SC
The bench admitted the plea for regular hearing which will be taken up in the first week of February.
ISLAMABAD:
The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued notice to authorities concerned of the Balochistan government over the dismissal of some 642 employees of the Excise Department.
A two-judge bench comprising Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani and Justice Nasirul Mulk issued the notice upon a plea moved by the dismissed contract employees.
The bench admitted the plea for regular hearing which will be taken up in the first week of February. The counsel apprised the bench that a total of 642 employees were inducted in the excise department in July 2011, but later their services were terminated.
